Kate Kalmykov, an Associate in the Firm's New York City office, focuses her practice on business immigration and compliance. Kate regularly works with various human resources departments on I-9 employment verification matters including the development and management of compliance programs, including I-9 internal audits and trainings. Additionally, she counsels employers on H-1B and LCA due diligence issues including internal audits and reviews. Kate has defended business under government investigation and successfully minimized exposure and liabilities. She also advises companies on immigration compliance issues related to mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring and contractor relationships.
Kate regularly publishes and lectures on I-9, H-1B and LCA compliance issues including civil and criminal penalties for non-compliance, employers responsibilities related to the E-Verify program, proper responses to Social Security No-Match letters and compliance with federal anti-discrimination laws.
Prior to joining Klasko, Rulon, Stock & Seltzer, LLP, Kate worked at Greenberg Traurig, LLP in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
